I haven’t played this game very much but, I think it’s a pretty fun concept. It feels similar to something like Minecraft or Rust but you are a viking, trying to do something related to something in viking mythology. Its got a lot of tools you can craft, resources you can gather, buildings you can build, and monsters you can fine. I will say that the combat is a bit janky, at least on controller (playing it mostly on a Steam Deck).
I also find it fun that you can create a server (hosted either in your home or in a cloud provider) and host play in the same environment with any and all your friends, even if you’re not able to play at the exact same time. I probably won’t write a full kids review on this game, but your teenage are probably fine to play this one.
Updates from 11/6/2025: I finally got a stable server set up for my brothers and I. This game is so much more fun to play with other people. Frankly, the fact that my brother had to move to another country makes it difficult to actually play games with him, so having this server that he’s able to just log into is a great way to play a bit more asynchronously.
I also (just for the hell of it) got the server connected to a discord bot, so it is able to notify when the server boots, shuts down, or when players join or leave the server. Completely unnecessary, but as I mentioned in Get Bored, I love to tinker and make things happen. The biggest reason for wanting to do this is to set it up so that I don’t have them texting me “I can’t get into the server.” It just turns on when it turns on (I have it on a cron job) and lets them know when they can log in.
